I don't know about you, but I'm excited for the Super Bowl! To be honest... my favorite part is the nachos, I'm not even joking. I love to decorate and host small parties, so I decided to share some DIY Super Bowl ideas! I was inspired by some pictures on Pinterest and I think it's so cool when they actually work out. I chose to recreate these adorable football cookies, this layered drink, and this beautiful pom pom garland that just screams team spirit!
Now, let's get to the Super Bowl festivities! Have a fabulous day!

DIY Rug Bag

I was shopping through the dollar store looking for Valentines day goodies, yes I like to shop early, and I came across these beautiful woven rugs! My immediate reaction was "OMG I could make a bag out of this!" And since they were only one dollar each, I bought two. And of course I had to share how I made it, typical Lauren, so here's a video tutorial! I am so in love with this DIY rug bag, I have a feeling that it will be my favorite accessory for the upcoming spring season!

Happy sewing and have a fabulous day!

DIY Quartz Necklace

DIY quartz necklace

It's been awhile since I've actually done a tutorial post, not counting my videos. I didn't realize how much I missed it! Today, I'm going to show you how to make this quartz necklace. I am so in love with how it turned out. This jewelry piece looks elegant, sophisticated and adds interest to your outfit. There's just something about adding natural elements to your outfits that I just love. Of course, these are just glass... but you get the idea! Here's how to make it:

Materials:
A. Quartz beads
B. Chain
C. Lobster clasp, eye pin, and jump rings (I just used the links of the chain instead of the jump rings)
D. Pliers

1.) The first step is to choose your stone pieces and string them onto the eye pin. Mine could only fit three beads, but if you get longer eye pins or wire, you can add more.

2.) Next, use your pliers to make a loop on the straight end of your eye pin to match the loop that is already made.

3.) Cut the chain to your desired length, then cut that in half to make two pieces of chain. Attach the chain to both sides of the charm you just made.

4.) Lastly, attach the lobster clasp to the other end of one of the chains and you're finished!

I would wear this necklace with a v-neck or a scoop neck shirt, something that shows off your collar bone and allows the beautiful necklace to be seen by the world! It kinda makes me feel like an ice princess or something like that, but maybe I've just watched Frozen one too many times... Oh well, have a fabulous day!

how to dress up a tshirt

T-shirts are a staple in everyone's closet. I used to not like t-shirts because they weren't dressy enough for me, but as I got older I've come to accept these simple garments. I've found ways to dress them up when I want to look a little more put together. But don't get me wrong, jeans and a t-shirt are always nice! For this outfit, I paired my Harry Potter Deathly Hallows shirt with this adorable pleated striped skirt from the Bethany Mota collection at Aeropostale. After loosely tucking the shirt in, I decided to fold the sleeves up a bit for a more styled look. To dress it up the t-shirt even more, I added these dainty gold necklaces from Forever 21, and a chic black quilted leather bag. It's kind of eclectic, I think, because it's combining chic, girly, and a bit a grunge. Also, I just really wanted to wear my Harry Potter t-shirt... Have a fabulous day!

DIY Plaid Flannel Scarf

I've seen plaid flannel scarves all over tumblr and instagram, and I finally got to making my own! I love how effortlessly stylish it looks. This diy accessory can definitely add some flavor to a dull outfit! It can make a t-shirt and jeans look like it just came off of the runway!... Okay maybe I got a little carried away, but I'm just sayin'... these scarves are really cute haha. Anyways, I made a tutorial for anyone who wants to join in on the trend! And this technique can be applied to any fabric, so you can use a spring fabric or summer fabric, anything really! Make it your own! Anyways, hope you try it out and have a fabulous day!

Maroon Tights

maroon tights

culvers butter burger

butterfly hair accessories

I received these adorable maroon tights for my birthday and I finally decided to wear them! I paired them with a black skater dress from Brandy Melville and an army green jacket from JCPenney. And since I'm cold blooded (I'm actually a dragon guys), I had to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath, and I didn't mean for it to show, but it actually worked out because the pattern has some maroon in it! Then, to finish my outfit, I wore my black combat boots (in case I met some ninjas) and my gold cross necklace! And I decided to show you my lunch because this new place called Culver's opened and yesterday was my first time trying it! They have butter burgers, which doesn't sound very healthy at all, but they were really good! Then I went shopping and found these super adorable butterfly hair accessories. A little random, but hey, life is random so it's pretty accurate! Hope you have a fabulous day!
