Winter has been very hot lately and it's frustrating because I love wearing scarves and boots. Keeping this in mind, I put together an outfit that can still be worn on a hot day, but it incorporates my winter fashion essentials.
Outfit Details:black dress (Brandy Melville/ Pacsun), Scarf (Aeropostale), combat boots (Target), cross body bag (flea market), bracelets (most of them I made, and three of them I bought, but I don't remember where)
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! My holiday was absolutely amazing! I received so many lovely presents and I am extremely thankful for everything. More awesome outfits to come! I am so excited!
Anyways, for today's post I am sharing what I did a few days before Christmas... I went to Disney!!!
It was definitely fun running around the park and posing by everything (as usual, always thinking about the blog). My shirt is one that I made and I actually have a tutorial on how to make it in one of my earlier posts! You can find it here. My leather jacket is from Aeropostale, my shoes and shorts are from Target, my sunglasses are from Urban Outfitters and my Mickey ears hat is from Disney!!
Hope you enjoyed this! Have a fabulous and productive day!
So my birthday was on December 14th :) and I turned 17!!!! It wasn't a "Sweet 16" it was a "Sassy 17!" Haha I stayed at a really nice hotel by the beach with my best friends and it was seriously the most amazing experience I've had, and definitely the best birthday I've had. Everything was so perfect! We dressed up in fancy dresses, took pictures and then we changed and just hung out on the grounds. I am so grateful for this experience, and I want to thank my dad for making it all happen for me, and also my friends Ana and Brooke for being so amazing <3 So here are some pictures!!
If you're wondering where I got my dress, it was from Ross for only $16, and my shoes are from Payless. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think! More posts coming soon, I promise! I have tons of pictures that I've been dying to upload, I just haven't had the time lately.
Fall is here! The weather is cooling down and it's time to break out our boots and scarves! For this edgy fall outfit, I am wearing a black shirt from Aeropostale. It has leather detail on the shoulders which helps bring in the black leather combat boots from Target. My jeans are from American Eagle. To add some color, I decided to add this coral/ orange scarf from Aeropostale. It has a layer of lace on one side and the other side is just the coral/ orange jersey fabric. And all around the edges there is this adorable dot trim that really adds an element of interest! For my other accessories I have on a BCBG leopard print bracelet that says FIERCE in gold letters, and I purchased that from Macys. Lastly, I have my favorite sunglasses at the moment. They are heart shaped aviator like ones from Urban Outfitters. I've worn them in past blog posts but I think they look good with many different outfits. Overall, this outfit is edgy with girly accents. You can wear it to school, the mall, a halloween festival/ party, or even a football game/ other sporting event! It's comfortable and still chic! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this fall outfit idea! I'm super excited to post more fall outfits!
Fashion has a lot to do with confidence and vice versa. The way you dress can help you feel more confident but also, confidence can affect the way you dress. For this "Tutorial Tuesday" I decided to share a "tutorial" on how to be confident. This is just what I do and it may not work for some people, but I just thought it might help :)
1.) Smile! This helps me so much! Smiling automatically makes you happier, even if it's just a little bit! Smile at other people and it will spread your happiness and make you seem confident even if you don't feel it yet. I think happiness plays a huge part in confidence.
2.) Do what makes you happy! Again with the "being happy" haha :) this is self explanatory. If something makes you happy, don't let others stop you.
3.) Be yourself! Trust me, it's much easier than trying to be someone else. Plus, the right people will come to love the real you which equals much better friends! If you have good friends, you'll be more involved and comfortable which definitely helps with confidence!
4.) Have good posture! Stand up tall and proud. Walk like you're a runway model! You will just be oozing with confidence! hahaha :D
5.) Take risks! Only good risks though! Please be smart about your choices okay! Try new things and you will start to be more open and outgoing.
Those are all the tips I have for today but just remember to "fake it 'til you make it!" Pretend you're confident and then you will start to actually be confident! Hope this helped!
Hey guys! I'm going to start doing more tutorials, so this is the start of "Tutorial Tuesdays"! Here is a super easy one to start us off: infinity bracelets! These have been trending for awhile now and I just got to making some! It's super easy and inexpensive, I promise :) Let's get started!
Here are the materials you will need:
Step 1.) Use the cord and measure the size of your wrist. Add and extra six inches, then cut your cord. It is better for your bracelet to have too much cord than too little because you can always adjust at the end. Repeat one more time so that you have two pieces in total.
Step 2.) Take one of the pieces of cord and fold it in half. Put the folded side through one of the openings in the "S" hook. Pull the loose ends of the cord through the folded loop and pull.
Step 3.) Repeat step two with the other piece of cord on the other side of the "S" hook so that it looks like the picture below.
And that's it! Now you just have to tie it on your wrist! Easy right?
These bracelets are simple and can easily be stacked with other bracelets! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Check out my first tutorial here which was also my very first blog post! It's how to make a cute bow :)
Ask me questions if anything was unclear :) Show me your diy infinity bracelets!
Almost everybody worries about what they want to wear to school. Your outfit has to show your personality and your best features while still being comfortable. I put together three different outfits to help put your mind at ease when picking outfits for school, especially for the first few weeks of school.
Outfit 1.) "Boho" (army green jacket- JCPenny, white lacy tunic- Aeropostale, black leggings- Ross, dangle necklace- American Eagle, gold stud earrings- Forever 21, brown sandals- DSW, Sunglasses- Urban Outfitters)
Outfit 3.) "Preppy" (blue and white striped dress- Abercrombie, jean jacket- Old Navy, floral sunglasses- Charming Charlie, silver bird dangle earrings- handmade, brown sandals- DSW)
I hope you were inspired by these outfits to create your own ensembles! My tips for great back to school outfits would be to get a few pieces that can dress up simple garments or add interest. You will need "go to items" for those days when you don't feel like waking up. Also, don't get anything you are not comfortable in because you definitely won't be comfortable in it after the 8 hour school day. Lastly, be yourself and show who you are! Good luck and start your school year with confidence!
What are your school outfit tips? I'd love to hear them :)
I've been nominated for the Liebster Award by StyleByBrittney! Thank you so much!
*What is the Liebster Award?
The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The word “Liebster” is German for favorite, beloved, or dearest.
*Here are the rules for the Liebster Award:
1.) Each nominee must link back the person who nominated them.
2.) Answer the 10 questions which are given to you by the nominator.
3.) Nominate 10 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers.
4.) Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
5.) Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.
*Here are the questions I was asked:
1.) Do you take more time doing your hair or makeup when getting ready? -I definitely take more time doing my hair! I have super long hair and I love to use braids! Plus, I don't usually wear makeup.
2.) If you had the chance, would you be a on a game show? -Yes! I think being on a game show would be such a fun experience even if I don't do well ha ha!
3.) If you could meet one celebrity who would it be? -Hmm thats's hard. I think I would want to meet Selena Gomez because I love her music, her style, and she seems like a pretty fun person!
4.) What’s your dream house like? -My dream house would be a beach house somewhere tropical with a vintage florida vibe. I would definitely have to have a sewing room duh! :D And I'd love to have a hot tub!
5.) If you could go back in time to relive a memory or change something, would you? -I have many memories I would love to relive, however, I wouldn't want to change anything because everything that has happened to me has made me into the person I am today.
6.) Do you prefer dogs or cats? -It's a tie. I've had both cats and dogs and I love them equally!
7.) What’s one thing you don’t leave the house without? Excluding your phone. -I can't leave the house without a water bottle. Gotta stay hydrated! Plus, it keeps your skin and hair looking good :)
8.) If you could commit one crime without getting caught, what would it be? -Eeek! I'm a goody-two-shoes so.... um... no crime...
9.) What’s your favorite animal? -It changes a lot because I love pretty much all animals. I'm trying to choose between an armadillo, a chameleon, and a flamingo. Let's just say armadillo haha!
10.) What’s your favorite season? -I LOVE LOVE LOVE spring! Some days are cool and some days are hot, which means I can pretty much wear anything I want! I also love it because it symbolizes rebirth and starting over brand new. I just love the colors and the flowers! It's just so perfect!
I've been thinking about some outfits for fall and back to school, and I've really been loving the color maroon! It reminds me of the warm and cozy feeling of autumn. Since it is still pretty warm in the fall (at least it is where I live), I wanted to find ways to make a "summery" outfit look more fall like, and I ended up with this outfit! It is still cool enough to wear in hot weather, but the maroon skirt makes it look somewhat cozier. So if you want to transition summer outfits into fall outfits, I suggest using darker/ deeper colors that look kind of "warm and cozy" if that makes sense. Try colors like maroon, mustard yellow, brown (be careful, don't get a gross looking brown), deep purple, navy, dark army green, etc. I hope this helped or inspired you!
